Job Posting: Intermediate Business Analyst
backRole Summary
The Business Analyst's main role is to act as an intermediary between the product end-user and the development group, working with each to collect, clarify and translate business requirement conceptual designs into the functional requirements from which products and solutions are developed. This includes managing core product and customer customization projects, facilitating stakeholder workshops and developing associated internal product documentation.
The Business Analyst contributes to the company's financial growth by ensuring that product development stays in line with the strategic product road map. The growing and changing business activities of Beanstream drive the need for continuous interpretation and change management. This is a high profile job which also requires close liaison with the management team across all functions.
Key Result Areas:
- Effectively plan, organize and manage resources within a defined statement of work (SOW) identifying the critical path and milestones necessary to bring about the successful completion of core product (internal) and customer customization (external) project goals and objectives.
- Proactively communication and translate high-level business requirements into the product functional requirements taking into account technical constraints, data conversion and migration, and existing database and software architecture in order to achievement excellence in the product development outcome.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
- Manage all aspect of thematic and reference end-user product documentation describing each feature of the product from a usability point-of-view and ensuring consistency and simplicity of the information flow to provide useful reference data and as such maximize efficiency of workload.
- Keep abreast and identify emerging trends related to best practices, methodologies and processes within the field to ensure that new directions are relevant to the business and based on sound knowledge and awareness.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Experienced participating in full life-cycle development from requirements gathering to final deployment
- Highly motivated, have a positive attitude and energy
- Well organised with solid analytical, time management and communication skills with the ability to multi-task in a demanding environment
- Able to generate respect from various internal and external stakeholder groups
- Acting with integrity and trust
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years working within a payment or web technology related services industry
- Undergraduate degree in Business or similar field or commensurate experience
- Minimum 3 years as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst
- Project management experience preferable
- Strong documentation skills
