The Management Team at Beanstream

Craig Thomson, President and CEO
Craig brings more than 15 years of leadership and entrepreneurial experience running high technology companies. Craig has been featured in several business magazines including 'Canadian Business - Profit' Magazine (http://www.canadianbusiness.com/profit_magazine/index.jsp) and has received the prestigious "Entrepreneur of the Year Award" in manufacturing, wholesale and distribution for Pacific Canada by Ernst and Young. Craig received his degree in Computer Engineering at the Royal Military College of Canada. Craig is a member of the Board of Advisors to the Faculty of Business at the University of Victoria and serves on the Victoria board of the Better Business Bureau.
Chris Koide, MBA, Chief Operating Officer
Chris has notable experience with software companies including: Peoplesoft Inc. of San Francisco where he was Strategy Manager and Glassco Park Inc. (now Fincad.com) where he was Director of Financial Engineering and Risk Management. Chris also brings 15 years experience in national, international, and corporate banking experience. He has extensive knowledge of banking practices including business and financial risk analysis, securitization, financial engineering, and cash management.
Tariq Jamal, Chief Technology Officer
Tariq joined the Beanstream team in January 2010. As CTO, he is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and governance of IT systems and infrastructure, while crafting a long-term strategy for integrated information technology. He comes with over 14 years experience in the IT field and more than 10 years experience in the loyalty and financial service industry. He is highly skilled in IT outsourcing (onshore and offshore), business process management, IT service and security management, and client/vendor management. Prior to Beanstream, Tariq served as an e-business consultant for Maritz Canada. He has also acted as Senior Director of Information Technology for The Futura Loyalty Group. Tariq holds a B.Sc. from California State University and earned his M.Sc. from Dakota State University.
Shawn Gerty, Director of Technology
Shawn manages development of all Beanstream applications and services. As a Systems Technology graduate specializing in web-based software development and project management, he has managed complex custom e-commerce implementations for large public and private sector clients. Shawn has over 10 years experience developing and supporting applications for enterprise environments.
Debra Woodward, Director of Finance
Debra joined Beanstream in the fall of 2004, having most recently worked as Senior Operations Financial Analyst for National Money Mart Co. for the past eight years. She was responsible for the development and implementation of all operational reporting and budgeting for both Canada and the US. Prior to her time with National Money Mart Co, Debra contracted accounting and business services to multiple businesses where she assisted in implementation and analysis of their computerized accounting systems. Debra is responsible for all aspects of our finance and accounting department.
Jason Miller, Director of Customer Support
Jason joined Beanstream in January 2007 and brings a strong background in Customer Service and Help Desk environments. Jason began his career in the outsourced call centre industry with AT&T, and has worked for several Fortune 500 companies and their clients including FedEx, Royal Bank, and Cingular Wireless. Prior to Beanstream, Jason worked for LiveBridge Inc., (now ACS) as a Project Manager, opening a call centre from the ground up. Jason's background in banking and overseeing support organizations makes him a strong candidate to manage our Customer Support team.
Andrea Butterworth, Director of Marketing
Andrea came on board in January of 2008 bringing valuable expertise in online marketing, web production, and product management. Before joining our team, Andrea was at Bravenet Web Services Inc., a company which saw rapid growth during her tenure to over 8 million members. As the Director of Content and Design at Bravenet, Andrea has experience managing the content, member relations, and marketing needs of a large web presence.
