Canada Post Uses Beanstream for Electronic Change of Address Service (ECOA).
VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA - November 10th, 2004Beanstream Internet Commerce, Inc. and Equifax Canada Ltd. have been chosen by Canada Post to provide the authentication technology for its Electronic Change of Address (eCOA) service. By using the eCOA service, Canadians are able to submit their change of address request from the comfort of their home 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Beanstream's authentication service is a tiered solution which provides escalating degrees of certainty that an individual participating in a transaction is who they claim to be. At its highest levels of authentication, the Beanstream solution matches both in-wallet and out-of-wallet data provided by the consumer against information stored at Equifax and other data service providers. The information provided by the consumer is then scored and weighted against a customized decision matrix developed by Beanstream. Consumers that successfully pass this authentication process can proceed with their transaction while others are out sorted for review or asked to provided additional information for assessment. The entire process takes seconds to complete and costs a small fraction of the price of manual review processes.
