Job Posting: Product Manager
backRole Summary
In this role, you are responsible for the complete product lifecycle for the Beanstream product portfolio. You will work with leading payments professionals, technology vendors, and high profile clients and draw from Beanstream's deep expertise in payments technology, business processes and risk management to shape the future of a global payments platform.
Key Result Areas:
- Develop and validate new roadmap product ideas and business cases, and present these concepts for approval to the senior management team.
- Ensure that product features align with market requirements.
- Identify, engage, and manage beta customers for new products. Gather feedback and make change requests to the product development team that align with the overall market.
- Improve Beanstream's speed to market by proactively driving customer issues to closure, removing obstacles preventing the product from going to production.
- Develop and implement product launch plans and 'Go To market' strategies for assigned products.
- Participate in a cross functional team to define a 3 year product strategy identifying new product capabilities, new businesses, and new markets consistent with Beanstream's corporate strategy. Identify and exploit potential synergies among existing and potential future products.
- Be the expert on customer needs and product requirements. Perform market analysis (market research, customer needs assessment and competitive analysis) to develop deep understanding of customers and their needs. Analyze broader business context, including industry structure, competitive dynamics and distinctive Beanstream capabilities.
- Be the Customer Advocate and provide others at Beanstream a deep knowledge of customer perspectives and requirements. Communicate with customers and partners to elicit needs, validate product direction, and support strategic sales activities.
- Product definition: Perform all required quantitative analysis (customer satisfaction, market share, sales trends, profitability, win/loss), strategic planning (business case, buy/build/partner, pricing) and product planning (product definition, positioning, packaging, pricing) required to clearly define customer and product requirements.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Lead a cross functional team to implement the product strategy throughout the entire product lifecycle from inception to end of life on time and on budget.
- Product Performance: Monitor and report on market performance of products, recommending corrective action where needed.
- Marketing and Sales support: As the product champion, perform internal and customer facing product promotion. This includes working closely with marketing to contribute to, or create, marketing materials and engaging with customer facing organizations to position the product effectively to improve sales effectiveness and drive revenue.
- Readiness support: Provide knowledge transfer to ensure customer facing organizations (sales, customer support, and professional services) are ready to work with new products as introduced.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of existing products and pricing options and ability to learn about new products as they are introduced. Expert knowledgebase for bank related products. Extend functionality of existing products and develop new products to meet market demands and strategic objectives.
- Follow standard product management protocols from requirements specifications to rollout
- Work with customers as needed to capture and fully define requirements
- Expert knowledge in credit risk and payments risk. Expert knowledge in bank payments. products
- A passion for payments, ecommerce and finding the right solution
- Ability to think outside the box and be highly creative
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels internally and externally
- Demonstrated effectiveness in consensus building, time management, issue escalation, planning, organizing, and project management.
- Experience with a credit card acquirer, payments experience
Qualification:
- 5 plus years relevant experience, including knowledge of payments industry
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager (5+ preferred)
- University degree in Business or CS with MBA
